WHAT WE BELIEVE

WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe the Bible is God’s Word and our only rule for faith and practice.

THE SCRIPTURES:  We believe that the Bible, composed of the Old and New Testaments, is the verbally inspired and infallible Word of God. (2 Tim. 3:16, 17; 2 Pet. 1:20, 21)

GOD:  We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4; Eph. 4:6; 2 Cor. 13:14)

JESUS CHRIST:  We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His conception by the Holy Spirit, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His true humanity, His atoning death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven, His present intercession and mediatorship, and His imminent visible return in power and glory. (John 1:1, 14; Mat. 1:18-23; 1 John 3:5; Col. 2:9; 1 Tim. 2:5; 3:16; Acts 2: 22-24; Mark 10:45; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; Heb. 7:25; Acts 1:9-11; John 14:3)

HOLY SPIRIT: We believe that the Holy Spirit is a Divine Person, who is our Comforter, and in His ministry of revealing Christ, convicting of sin, righteousness, and of judgment, regenerating, sanctifying and empowering for service. (John 16:7-8; Acts 1:8)

MAN:  We believe that man was created in innocence, that he sinned and all mankind are now sinners, born of a sinful nature, and come short of God’s glory. (Gen. 1:26, 27; 2:17; 3:6; Rom. 3:23; 5:12; 6:23)

SALVATION:  We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins and that salvation from sin is received only by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. (1 Cor. 15:3, 4; Eph. 2:8, 9; Acts 4:12; John 1:12; 14:6; Rom. 10:9-10)

THE CHURCH:  We believe that the church is a spiritual organism, the Body of Christ, and is composed of only regenerated, individuals who God has brought together for worship, fellowship, service, and the spread of the Gospel. (Mat. 16:16-18; Acts 2:41-47; Col. 1:18; Eph. 1:22, 23; Heb. 10:25; Acts 13:1; 14:27; 15:3)

ORDINANCES:  We believe that baptism is the immersion of the believers in water, portraying death to sin and resurrection to newness of life. (Acts 2:38, 8:29-39; Rom. 6:4)  And that the Lord’s Supper is a commemoration of the Lord’s death until He comes again. (Mat. 26:26-29; 1 Cor. 11:23-30)

THE FUTURE:  We believe in the pre-tribulational and pre-millennial return of Christ for His bride, the Church.  Following the period known as the Tribulation, Christ will return with His church to set up the literal millennial kingdom. (1 The. 5:9; Titus 2:13-14; Luke 21:35, 36; Acts 1:11)
